Bob Jones Trail Project Update
Great news concerning the City to Sea Bob Jones Trail extension. The County of SLO applied for and received an Active Transportation Program (ATP) grant for $18 million to complete the missing link from the Octagon Barn to the current trailhead on Ontario Road in Avila. Now the Board of Supervisors need to vote to accept the grant. Recently, Wallace Group was given the opportunity to further discuss the project that creates a safe bicycle and pedestrian connection with the Friends of the Bob Jones Trail. “This portion of the project includes closing a dangerous gap off of Highway 101,” said Helene Finger, President of Friends of the Bob Jones Trail. The County Board of Supervisors are meeting to discuss accepting the ATP grant on July 13th, please share your support far and wide!
